Press Release Summary = The 2nd PIFA Skills Contest is an opportunity for talented young football players to assess their abilities. The players will be tested like David Beckham (11yrs) was on the 5 aspects of the football game - Shooting, Dribbling, Short Pass, Lofted Pass & Ball Control.
Children will be given handicaps according to their age in the form of time and distance. These tests have been adopted from the Bobby Carlton Soccer & Sports Academy, Manchester, UK, where David Beckham\'s record of 1100 points is still unbroken.
Top 2 winners will be trained free of cost by UEFA coaches from the Bobby Charlton Soccer & Sports academy at St Andrews, Bandra, Mumbai from 15-18 October 2006
Last year, over 350 children participated in the contest. The 2 winners Rolfred Couthino of St Puis X and Ajay Kajania of Holy Name tied winners with 800 points. Both of them attended the Bobby Charlton camps at St Andrews, Bandra after which they were selected for Mahindra United U-15 team.
Entry will be free and open to boys & girls from 8-16 years of age. All children will have to be in full football attire.
Entries will be limited to 300 participants.
The contest will start at 8:00 am. Participants are requested to be at the venue at 7:45 am.
